Berber villages, kasbahs, collective corn lofts, imposing landscapes and fabulous mountain passes. On request, all itineraries (loops / crossings) "à la carte", with or without ascents to the summits. For example, I can offer you a trek like this:
Arrival and transfer to hotel.
Visit of some of North’s Africa largest waterfalls. Crossing of Aghbar pass with panoramic view of the M’Goun range. Discovery of Aït Abbas Valley (red valley), and then arrival at Aït Bougmmaz Valley (happy valley). Meeting with our mule drivers and then immediate departure for the trek. Crossing Arous village. Camping near a sheep pasture and a spring.
Crossing Aghrow pass with view of the highest crest of M’Goun (4068 m). Camping in the pastures.
Ascent of the highest peak in the region : the M’Goun. We follow a small pass, and then a long curved and comfortable crest to discover the Atlas and desert world. People who prefer to not ascend this mountain can follow the mule team towards the campground. Meeting with nomads and their dromedaries. Camping near the spring of the wadi M’Goun.
Easier trek with the possibility to go trough the gorge of Oulilimt. Camping near the wadi M’Goun and the Aït Ahmed Kasbah.
We will walk along the M’Goun via an excellent path with no difficult streches and discover the Berber villages of Taghreft (2150 m), Waouchki and Ighrem Izdaren. We can see irrigated terraces and small farms where apples and potatoes are cultivated. Camping near the river at the entrance of the gorge.
We will reach the most spectacular part of the M’goun gorge, which is protected under the national preservation program. The gorge creates a very long canyon of 1500 m. During this section, we will continue the trek exclusively in the water and creek beds (wadi M’Goun). Overnight with local people.
Now the path crosses the river without stopping and we will reach the pretty village of Boutaghrar (gateway to the desert) after the Berber villages of Aguerzaka (1730 m), Issoumar (1680 m) and Timglouna (1605 m) (outstanding Ksars and Kasbahs). Night in a gite.
We will cross the little town of Kalaat Mgouna (Roses Valley), then Ouarzazate (capital of the desert). We will cross the road pass of Tizi N'Tichka (2260 m). Night in hotel in Marrakech.
Transfer to airport and assistance.
